Ever wondered what would be the 'one' philosophy that would allow us all to live a happy, satisfied life? The crux of the 'one' idea that would let us a live a life with no regrets nor any disturbances and antagonies? .. and hence, also the greatest strength of character?
Each person would have their own answer to this question- which would constitute their life's phil. or moral.
To me.. The greatest strength and the one truth i follow is ...' To be truthful to yourself no matter what! ' .
Why live a life where you are trying to make yourself believe something that is not true.. or try to be someone that you are not? Why do something just for another's sake.. when it goes against the very principles you believe in ? An act that eases another's pain and discomfort and that you don't loathe to do is fine. But why do something or be someone when you think something else instead and refuse to give voice to your own thoughts. yeah.
And what meaning would our lives hold if all our actions are instead controlled and affected by others' ?
Are you even being 'honest' to yourself by pretending that the excuses you give yourself justify your actions.. we know when we lie to ourselves or to others and when we don't do something we should have done or vice.v. then why lie about it all? then why do it at all? and then give excuses and pseudo-reasoning?
I don't understand the logic behind lying to another person and pretending to be someone else or even agreeing with something when you don't believe in it. What is the point? other than to appease someone else? and who is that someone to us?
Is any man or cause, reason enough to to let us not be our own selves? no matter if it for grades or professors or friends or enemies.. what can be a greater principle or thought than to be honest with ourselves?

I believe, rather than talking ourselves into believing false things, we are better off and will become much stronger if we can accept ourselves for what we are, understand ourselves first, and then setting about to change or improve ; and through it all, being proud of precisely what we are, what we do and what we belive in. Not caring what the whole world says as long as we are truthful to ourselves and don't hesitate even a little to tell the world what we are and what we belive in.

For its me who was born alone and its me who shall die alone, and I am the only one who makes sense to me. This world and I owe nothing to each other, except to live in mutual harmony.

Well written i should say...my thoughts exactly.
But analysing why people do what they do, well...they might get that pang of guilt or whatever...but most of the time, some are driven by other needs...the need for fame...for praise...for adrenalin. the kick...the drive. ah...humans!!
hypocrisy and all related jazz...i hate it!! i hate it esp when students cocksuck their profs for favours and grades!!! think you did mention that somewhere...

So let us summarise the philosophy,
Be simple
Be straight
Speak what u think
Be yourself all the time
Never be a hypocrite
Fear ur conscience

Eventually if u go by ur conscience, there wont be any regrets.

Then live to your own expectations, which will make you satisfied...

thats it.....

I think i follow most of the stuff in here! nope everything :))) i am happy....

so true...Maharaj n vivek have already voiced my thoughts on this post beautifully...
If we get to find out true nature n acknowledge it for its unique character we would accomplish the goal of this life n every other piece of the jigsaw puzzle will fall in its place...hope we do that this time..

I do think whatever you try to project, finally what shoes up is the true YOU.
anycase people will find what and like you for what you really are.But sometimes you need to change for the benifit of your parents,or your dear loved ones harmony who actually you think is a part of you.

its all in the way you see it.If you see them as a part of you..then it is you,if you see them as anythird person, then you do need to do tings sometimes against your will to help them.

believe me if you love them you would.Wouldnt you do it for your mummy or daddy. To my knowledge most of us do.
